Maserati is almost ready to introduce its second SUV in its current portfolio, the Maserati Grecale, which is slated to debut in Milano, Italy on November 16, 2021. After much delay in its world premiere largely due to the ongoing pandemic, the new Italian SUV will finally break its cover. The Maserati Grecale is a compact crossover built on the Alfa Romeo-developed Giorgio platform that also underpins the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Now, after the Maserati Levante, the Grecale is the newest SUV to join the company’s global line-up, and will feature a four-pot turbo, as well as a V6 unit, but we need to wait to see whether a Trofeo model is also on the cards.
Maserati initially teased the Grecale with a few blurry images late last year, after which we caught a blue camouflaged test mule a while back that gave us more details on the design of the crossover SUV. We expect the new Maserati Grecale to be similarly proportioned to the Stelvio, but will be sportier than the Levante with a wide grille, and equally large rear section. The bulging hood, LED headlamps with LED DRLs, and air intake in the lower side bumper area are some of the design elements we know till now. The derriere of the Maserati Grecale will sport big, quad exhausts to heighten its SUV dimensions.
