The Manipur government has withdrawn the "no food, shelter" order for Myanmar nationals who have been fleeing the neighbouring country after the coup.
The Manipur government's order on Myanmar nationals fleeing the neighbouring country after the coup and taking shelter in the state has been withdrawn by the state home department after a controversy erupted over it. The order, which stated "no food or shelter for Myanmar nationals" had received criticism after it was issued. Clarifying the content of the letter, Manipur home department has said that it was "misconstrued and interpreted differently". As a fallout of the events taking place in the neighbouring country, Myanmar, it is reported that the country's nationals have been trying to enter India through the border states including Manipur.
