Mangaluru unlikely to get LPG shipment immediately

Mangaluru's LPG shipment is delayed as Tanker Shivalik heads to Dahej Port instead of its scheduled arrival.
LPG Tanker Shivalik, which discharged 20,000 tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at Mundra Port in Gujarat on Tuesday, is unlikely to sail to Mangaluru to discharge the remaining 26,000 tonnes of LPG as announced earlier.
Instead, the tanker was expected to sail to Dahej Terminal (Adani Petronet Port Ltd.) in the Gulf of Khambhat, South of Mundra, and in Bharuch district of Gujarat, to discharge the balance 26,000 LPG, multiple sources in the maritime sector told The Hindu.
After discharging LPG at Mundra, Shivalik sailed out around 3 p.m. and was expected to reach Kandla Port for bunkering (fuelling) around 11 p.m. on Tuesday. From there, it was expected to sail to Dahej, sources said.
Sources in the New Mangalore Port Authority confirmed that Shivalik, which was scheduled to reach Mangaluru on Wednesday, was unlikely to arrive.
Reports also said another LPG Tanker, Nandadevi, with 46,500 tonnes of LPG, arrived at Vadinar (Jamnagar) Port, which is also in Gujarat, on Tuesday and began ship-to-ship transfer of the LPG.
Another independent consignment of about 30,000 LPG was expected to arrive at New Mangalore Port on March 29, sources said. The consignment originates from the United States of America for Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL).
