The video, shared on Instagram by Kritartha, showed how he celebrated his house-help, who he fondly referred to as “didi,” making sure her special day didn’t go unnoticed.

In the clip, “Didi” was seen standing shyly behind a small ice-cream cake placed on a table, as the man recording and his friend gathered around her, cheering her on. They lit the candles and began singing “Happy Birthday,” their voices filling the room as she smiled, clearly overwhelmed by the gesture.

As the candles flickered, she cut the cake, still a little hesitant but visibly happy. She then fed a slice to the man and his friend, a simple but affectionate gesture, before expressing how grateful she felt. Her smile showed a mix of surprise, warmth, and quiet joy.

In the caption, Kritartha shared the backstory behind the moment. He wrote that he had found her crying in the kitchen and asked what was wrong. She told him, “Aaj meri maa zinda hoti toh mujhe pyaar karti (If my mother was still alive, she would've given me alot of love,” it was her birthday, and she was missing her parents, both of whom she had lost at a young age.

Wanting to make her feel loved, they decided to celebrate her birthday with a cake. He also mentioned that despite everything, she had even offered to give them Rs 500 so they could order something and celebrate, an offer they refused, choosing instead to do something for her.
