India Today
A man was disturbed by a passenger playing loud bhajans at 6 am on an Indian Railways train. When he asked the passenger to lower the volume of the song, the reply he received in return left him stunned.
A man travelling on an Indian Railways train recently shared a video showing a disruptive early-morning incident involving a fellow passenger who played loud bhajans at 6 am.
The clip, which gained traction online, led to a debate over public etiquette and personal freedom in shared spaces.
Sharing the post on r/IndianRailways, the passenger wrote in the caption: “Uncles started bhajan at 6 am, I told him to decrease the volume. He said, ‘beta bhajan to sunne chahiye.’” His post emphasised the tension between the spiritual practice of one traveller and the comfort of others trying to rest.
The video itself shows the poster’s phone placed next to a speaker blasting bhajans. The music is so loud that the phone vibrates violently, causing the camera to shake as it records, giving viewers a firsthand sense of the overwhelming sound in the compartment.
