Mallika Sherawat's film Murder was released in 2004. In a recent interview, the actress opened up about her bold scenes and how people reacted to it.

Anurag Basu's 2004 film Murder is the first of the much-popular 'Murder series'. Starring Emraan Hashmi, Ashmit Patel and Mallika Sherawat in the lead roles, the film remains etched in our memory to date. Though the film opened to mixed reviews from critics, it earned a super-hit status at the box office. Apart from the plot and brilliant acting, what had the audience's attention was Mallika Sherawat. The actress, who was then a newcomer in Bollywood, faced major backlash for her bold scenes. Mallika, 17 years later, has now opened up about the reactions she received. Mallika, in an interview with ETimes, revealed that she faced major flak for her bold scenes. The actress said that she was morally assassinated for hot scenes which have become pretty common in new-age films.
