Mahindra XUV400 and Mahindra XUV900 names trademarked
India Today
Trademark filings have revealed that Mahindra XUV400 and Mahindra XUV900 have been registered hinting at the possibility of new upcoming Mahindra SUVs bearing these badges.
Recent trademark filings have revealed that the names Mahindra XUV400 and Mahindra XUV900 have been registered by the company indicating that upcoming Mahindra SUVs in India could include these nameplates. The Mahindra XUV400, as the name suggests, could occupy the void between the XUV300 and the XUV500 to take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos and the upcoming Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun. The XUV300 is a sub-4m derivative of the SsangYong Tivoli and test mules of the regular Tivoli have been spotted on several occasions in India. The Mahindra XUV400 could be based on it or could be derived from the SsangYong Tivoli XLV 7-seater. Mahindra XUV900, if an SUV with the name is indeed in the works, will be the company’s flagship offering positioned above the XUV500 and the upcoming Mahindra XUV700. Mahindra could be working on a replacement for the unsuccessful Alturas G4 and might consider using its “XUV” nomenclature that has thus far tasted a lot of success in the form of the XUV300 and XUV500.
