Maharashtra: IAF helicopters called for rescue operations in Chiplun, Khed towns of Ratnagiri district

In Chiplun, hundreds of residents were stranded after water levels in the Vashishtri river, the lifeline of the city, breached the danger level and flowed over the streets and inside houses.
Two Indian Air Force helicopters have been called in for rescue operations of people stranded in Chiplun and Khed towns in Maharashtra. BN Patil, District Collector of Maharashtra's Ratnagiri district has confirmed the ongoing rescue operations. Seven Navy teams and two National Disaster Response Force(NDRF) teams are on their way. The airforce helicopters are waiting for weather clearance to take off from Mumbai.More Related News
