Maharashtra Government cancels leave for senior officials, emphasises blackout preparedness, cyber security, and public awareness.
The Maharashtra Government on Friday (May 9, 2025) has cancelled the leave of all senior officials of the State Government, particularly from the health department and the disaster management cell.
The decision was taken after Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde held a security review meeting on Friday (May 9, 2025).
Taking a comprehensive review of all matters like mock drill, blackout, etc., Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis gave various guidelines.
In-charge Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar, State Director General of Police Rashmi Shukla, Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti, Mumbai Municipal Corporation Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani, Additional Director General of Police Civil Security Prabhat Kumar, Principal Secretary of Home Department Radhika Rastogi, Additional Inspector General of Intelligence Shirish Jain, Mumbai and Mumbai Suburban District Collectors were present.
At this time, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis gave the following instructions:
- Conduct mock drills in every district and establish a war room at the district level.
- Set up a coordination mechanism with the hospitals during the blackout.
