Shashi Tharoor praised Priyanka Chopra after reconnecting with her at the Harvard India Conference, calling her achievements a matter of pride for India.
Actor Priyanka Chopra and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor reunited at the annual Harvard India Conference, where Chopra delivered a motivational closing keynote address. The event, held at Harvard University, brought together leaders from Indian business, policy, and culture. Both Chopra and Tharoor were among the headline speakers, with their backstage interaction drawing attention from attendees and fans alike.
Tharoor shared his experience of meeting Chopra on X, posting photographs from backstage and commending her achievements. He wrote, "Caught up with @priyankachopra (after more than a decade) in the wings at @Harvard backstage, just before her appearance as the closing keynote of the @HarvardIndConf. Remarkable to see (and hear) how well she is doing! She has made India proud by conquering a stage on which Indians rarely get to appear. And of course she looks stunning, appears perfectly poised and sounds thoughtful and wise - what’s not to be proud of?!"
Chopra responded warmly to Tharoor's message, expressing her admiration and gratitude. She replied, "It was so good to see you again @ShashiTharoor Sir. Have always had such admiration for the orator that you are but as well for your clap backs,. thank you so much for staying for my panel and your wisdom. Hope you feel better soon and our paths cross again."

During her keynote, Chopra reflected on her formative years and the impact of her experiences in the United States. She said, "Your life is a sum of choices and experiences. And me moving to America at that young age, it was a very defining age or teen years, you know, you kind of are influenced into the adult that you're becoming, you kind of choose the things that work for you, serve you. And I spent that time in the States. So it definitely defined me, made me independent."
Chopra, who has established a successful career in both Bollywood and Hollywood, is recognised as one of the few Indian actors to have bridged the gap between the two industries. She also shared insights on personal growth and the importance of making choices that align with individual values, emphasising how her journey abroad shaped her independence and identity.
