
Lucknow: 500 drones to present stories of Indian freedom struggle at country's biggest drone show

Lucknow is all set to witness India's largest drone show on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Uttar Pradesh's capital, Lucknow, is all set to witness the country's largest drone show on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, 75 years of India's independence. The drone show will be based on the theme of the 1857 freedom struggle and will be held at The Residency, Lucknow at 6 pm today.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, minister of state for culture Meenakshi Lekhi and other senior leaders will be present on the occasion. The idea of the first Indian freedom struggle from 1857 to 1974 would be presented through 500 drones. It would be accompanied by music, laser lights and colourful drone acrobatics.

Two years ago, former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina warned of an alleged plot by a 'white man' to establish a Christian state. In 2025, the Mizoram CM said Ukraine war veterans were using the state to enter Myanmar. The arrest of 7 foreign nationals by the NIA has prompted experts to suggest that the incidents might be connected.

Pradyut Bordoloi was a dyed-in-the-wool Congressi who vowed to never leave the party. The physical attack on him in 2025, and the Congress embracing "communal elements" pushed the Lok Sabha MP into joining the BJP. Bordoloi's exit from the Congress after three decades is significant for the party and Assam's politics.
