Left parties hold protest, seek safe return of A.P citizens from war zones

Left parties protest in Visakhapatnam, demanding safe return of A.P. citizens from war zones and an end to US-Iran conflict.
Calling for an immediate halt to the genocide in Iran by the USA and Israel, the leaders of Left parties demanded the Central and State governments ensure the safe return of people, from Visakhapatnam and other regions of Andhra Pradesh struck in the war zones.
On Thursday, the Left parties staged a protest at Jagadamba junction, during which they displayed effigies of US President Donald Trump. they sought an end to the war and called for restoration of world peace. The protestors urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene to de-escalate tensions in West Asia, emphasising the need for India to take a leadership role and to exert diplomatic pressure on the United States of America and Israel to stop their attacks on Iran.
They also appealed to the civil society to condemn the attacks. They alleged that the U.S. was targetting Iran to take control over the oil reserves in the country. They said that children, students and senior citizens were dying in the attacks. The leaders of Left parties also found fault with the Chandrababu Naidu government for failing to exert pressure on the Prime Minister to ensure the safe return of people from AP, caught in the crossfire.
Leaders of Left parties M. Jaggu Naidu (CPI_M), Sk Rahaman (CPI), M. Lakshmi CPIML (New Democracy) and Ch. Deva, CPIML (Praja Poru) were among those who participated in the protest.

The Karnataka Lokayukta Police on Thursday conducted simultaneous searches at over 42 locations across the state in connection with disproportionate assets (DA) cases registered against nine government officers. Searches were carried out in Bengaluru, Mandya, Gadag, Mysuru, Vijayapura, Hassan and Yadgir districts. According to officials, assets worth a total of ₹35.65 crore were unearthed, including ₹24.05 crore in immovable properties and ₹11.59 crore in movable assets.

Ravi has been appointed to replace him ahead of the State Assembly polls. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said she was “shocked and deeply concerned” and alleged she was not consulted as per established convention.
