Konkan Railway celebrates International Women’s Day with commitment to gender equality, empowerment, and inclusivity, featuring inspiring speakers and discussions.
Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) celebrated International Women’s Day, reaffirming its commitment to gender equality, empowerment and inclusivity at its headquarters in Navi Mumbai on Saturday, March 8.
The event commenced with an address by Manisha Jha, Chairperson of the KRCL Women’s Cultural and Social Service Association (KRWC & SSA), who emphasised the crucial role of women in shaping families, workplaces, and society.
Konkan Railway Chairman and Managing Director Santosh Kumar Jha highlighting the indispensable role of women in the growth and success of the organisation. He reiterated KRCL’s commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace and ensuring equal opportunities for women across all levels.
Maharashtra Director General of Police (rtd) Meeran Chadha Borwankar shared her experiences in law enforcement and spoke on the significance of women breaking barriers in leadership roles. She encouraged women to embrace their potential, challenge societal stereotypes and advocate for their rights.
Former professor at Terna Medical College and obstetrician & gynaecologist Deepa Kala shed light on essential aspects of women’s health, including reproductive care, preventive healthcare, and the importance of self-care in achieving overall well-being.
The celebration also included engaging discussions and interactive sessions aimed at empowering women and recognising their invaluable contributions.
