Kolhapur housewife Kavita Chawla becomes first crorepati of KBC 14. Watch promo

Kavita Chawla from Kolhapur has now become the first contestant to win Rs 1 crore on KBC 14. The show is hosted by Amitabh Bachchan.

'1 crore!' Amitabh Bachchan will be finally seen saying these iconic words on Kaun Banega Crorepati 14. This season has now got its first crorepati in Kavita Chawla, a homemaker from Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Kavita is still on the hot seat, and will answer the Rs 7.5 crore question now. Sony TV released a promo featuring Kavita with the show’s host, Amitabh Bachchan. Kavita has studied till Class XII.

Kavita Chawla is the first contestant of to win the cash prize of Rs 1 crore on the latest season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. Along with the KBC 14 promo shared on Instagram, the channel wrote in the caption, “Housewife Kavita Chawla ji ne 1 crore jeet kar KBC season 14 mein ek naya itihaas rach diya! Dekhiye Kaun Banega Crorepati, iss Monday aur Tuesday raat 9 baje, sirf Sony par (Kavita Chawla, who is a housewife, won 1 crore on KBC 14 to make history. Watch Kaun Banega Crorepati on Monday and Tuesday at 9pm only on Sony TV) (sic)." In the clip, Kavita is seen celebrating after she wins the Rs 1 crore prize. The KBC contestant also looks focused before attempting her next question, which can win her Rs 7.5 crore, if answered correctly.

KBC 14 premiered on Sunday, August 7. The first episode witnessed Big B welcoming eminent celebrities, who took over the hotseat and played the game. Those who graced the show as special guests included Aamir Khan, sports icons like Mary Kom and Sunil Chhetri, along with India's first Blade Runner, Major DP Singh, and Mithali Madhumita, the first female officer to win the Gallantry Award.
