Govinda's nephew slams bankruptcy rumours, defends actor's enduring stardom

Govinda's nephew slams bankruptcy rumours, defends actor's enduring stardom

Govinda's cousin Vinay Anand has firmly rejected social media rumours suggesting that the actor is facing financial difficulties. He called such claims baseless and highlighted the star's enduring popularity.

Rumours about Bollywood actor Govinda's alleged financial troubles have recently gained traction on social media, fuelling discussions about the star's career and personal life. In response, Govinda's nephew, actor Vinay Anand, has addressed these claims, firmly denying any suggestion of bankruptcy and questioning the motives behind the speculation. Vinay Anand's remarks come as posts and old video clips continue to spark conversations about Govinda's current status in the industry.

Despite his enduring popularity, recent discussions online have focused on the possibility of the actor facing financial difficulties. These conversations prompted Vinay Anand to give an interview on the HindiRush podcast, where he criticised both the rumours themselves and those who propagate them.

During the podcast, Vinay Anand directly challenged the authenticity and rationale of the rumours. He stated, "It makes me wonder what kind of people we have in our country. What kind of stories media is writing, woh bhi ek publicity he hai. Main jab social media kholun Govinda ji he nazar aate hain. Kya stardom hai yaar. (That’s publicity too. Whenever I open social media, I see only Govinda ji everywhere. What stardom, yaar)."

He further emphasised Govinda's continued relevance and market value in the film industry, outlining the actor's ability to command significant earnings from public appearances. "He is a superstar, Govinda aaj woh ek jagah khade hojaaye Rs 25-30 lakh rupaya aaramse mil jaaye. Ye log jisko gareeb bol rahe hain ye log bewakoof hain. Log likh rahe hain Govinda sadak par aagaye, Govinda ke saath ye hogaya Abe pagalon, kidhar ho, kiske liye bakwaas kar rahe ho. He is 90s superstar who would charge in crores for films (If Govinda just stands at one place today, he can easily earn Rs 25–30 lakh. The people calling him poor are fools. Some are writing that Govinda is on the streets or that something terrible has happened to him. Are you crazy? Where are you getting this nonsense from, and who are you spreading it for)."

Addressing the nature of the discussions on social media, Vinay Anand expressed frustration about the rapid spread of misinformation and the lack of verification before such claims are believed. According to him, these rumours serve more as a means of gaining publicity for those spreading them rather than reflecting any real situation regarding Govinda.

Vinay Anand also recalled the actor's career achievements, reminding critics of Govinda's financial success and the impact of his work. "Jab Lokhandwala mein Rs 12-13 lakh mein flat aata tha. He used to charge a Rs 1 crore for one film. How can you say ke woh sadak par aagaye hain. 70-80 filmein karne ke baad, 5 filmon mein Govinda ne jitna kamaya shayad he kisine kamaya hoga Tum itne bade legend ke baare mein aise kaise bewakoofi waali baatein kar sakte ho. Mujhe bahot ajeeb lagta hai (How can you say that he has landed on the streets? After doing 70–80 films, the amount Govinda earned from just five of them is probably more than what many others have made)," he said.
