Rescue operations resumed on Thursday morning to trace around 19 missing locals in Honzar village of Kishtwar in the Jammu region, where a and left seven dead on Wednesday. “The rescue operations resumed early Thursday morning. Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar, Shafqat Hussain, is camping at Honzar to oversee the rescue operations,” Additional Director General of Police, Jammu, Mukesh Singh, said. Besides the policemen, officials of the district administration, personnel of the Army and the State Disaster Relief Force were busy removing the rubble. However, the Indian Air Force (IAF) could not fly a chopper to shift the injured out of the area due to the inclement weather. Around two dozen houses and cowsheds were damaged by gushing waters after the cloudburst, which occurred in the intervening night of July 27-28.More Related News
