
Kerala to impose hefty fine if govt liquor firm employees overcharge buyers

A hefty fine has been imposed by the Kerala government on employees of government liquor firms for overcharging customers.
Employees of the Kerala State Beverages Corporation (BEVCO) who charge extra for liquor will face a hefty fine—1000 times the amount they charge a customer extra.
The Excise department imposed the fine to get rid of liquor overcharging and other malpractices.
