Political tensions escalate in Kerala as Congress office vandalised, alleging CPI(M) involvement following violent election incidents.
The Congress constituency committee office at Mayyil in Kannur, Kerala, was allegedly vandalised in the early hours of Friday, with the party alleging involvement of CPI(M) workers amid heightened political tensions following a poll-day stabbing incident.
The office in Mayyil town was found damaged with its front window panes smashed and the door broken open. Furniture, including chairs and cupboards, as well as photographs of party leaders, were destroyed by the assailants who allegedly forced entry and ransacked the premises.

Congress leaders accused CPI(M) activists of carrying out the attack, though the police have not officially confirmed the perpetrators.
The incident comes a day after violence was reported near a polling booth in Mullakkodi.
CPI(M) worker P.P. Prakashan, a native of Kuttichira, was allegedly stabbed around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday near the booth at Mullakkodi UP school while returning after polling duty as an LDF booth agent.
