A beedi worker from Kannur has donated Rs 2 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) in Kerala, leaving just Rs 850 in his bank account. His story has gone viral on social media.

The coronavirus pandemic has made us see the worst but brought the best among some of us. A beedi worker from Kannur has donated Rs 2 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) in Kerala, leaving just Rs 850 in his bank account. Though his identity remains yet to be revealed, the beedi worker’s story is doing rounds on the internet and going viral on social media. Many heart warming stories are coming up about donations to the CMDRF, including that of an elderly man who donated 2L from his savings bank account which had Rs. 200,850 in it. It is this love for one another that sets us apart. Once again, thank each and every one of you! Keral rallies to #vaccinechallenge . Bank staff hesitated but his answer was that he could still roll beedies and also was entitled to disability pension. We are humbled by response of people. Thank you!!
