Karnataka High Court directed Netflix to block the streaming of the first episode titled, A Murdered Mother, from the web series, Crime Stories: India Detectives. The second respondent has produced a series titled Crime Stories: India Detectives, which is available on Netflix, offered by the first respondent. The content in the episode features investigation clips by the police and a video of the perpetrated confession.

Apart from violating the privacy of the petitioner in a case that is under criminal trial, the episode exposes the petitioner's identity as well. The petitioner has therefore filed the suit along with the contemporary injunction.
