Kanpur businessman Piyush Jain who was arrested on charges of tax evasion has been sent to 14-day judicial custody on Monday. Section 132A of GST has been imposed on Piyush Jain.
He has been accused of evading tax of nearly Rs 31.50 crores. Further, cash worth Rs 175 crore, 23 kg of gold was recovered from him.
