The father withdrew the petition from SC challenging the HC order which rejected his plea to have his own doctor as part of medical team for post mortem report. In his argument before SC today, he said, ‘’That since the post-mortem is over, the report and video should be given to the doctor of their choice for second opinion.’’
SC has said this issue can be raised before the High court. No need for SC intervention.
National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) chairperson Priyank Kanoongo on Wednesday said he will visit Kallakurichi on July 27 to probe the unnatural death of a Class 12 girl studying in a private school.
A 17-year-old girl, studying in Class 12 in Kaniyamoor Sakthi matriculation school in Kallakurichi of Salem district was found dead on July 13 on the hostel premises.
The girl, an inmate of a room on the third floor of the hostel was suspected to have ended her life by jumping to the ground from the top floor. The body was spotted by a school watchman.
She died by suicide after alleged torture and harassment by teachers. The cause of death as mentioned in the first autopsy was multiple injuries and haemorrhage.
