Confirming the reunion on his blog, Bachchan wrote, “And meeting up with the great KAMAL HAASAN we shall be working together after ages .. last in Giraftar (sic).” Their previous collaboration was the 1985 film Geraftaar -- a title still remembered for its powerhouse cast and box-office success.

He also addressed his absence from his weekly ‘Sunday Darshan’, writing that work commitments kept him away.
