Jyotika's Ponmagal Vandhal helped a nine-year-old rape survivor open up about her predator to her mom. The Madras High Court has sentenced the abuser to five-year imprisonment.
Jyotika was last seen in director JJ Fredrick's Ponmagal Vandhal, which released in 2020. She took to Instagram to share a post about the impact that her film Ponmagal Vandhal created in the minds of a young victim. After watching the film, a nine-year-old rape survivor outed a family member who abused her. She, along with her family, filed a complaint against a 48-year-old relative who harassed her sexually. The Madras High Court heard the case and sentenced him to five years in prison.
