Joshua Jackson is still processing the death of James Van Der Beek.
The actor, 47, appeared on the "Today" show Tuesday, March 10, and spoke for the first time about the loss of his former "Dawson's Creek" costar, who died Feb. 11 after a battle with cancer. He was 48.
Jackson, who played Pacey Witter on the classic teen drama opposite Van Der Beek's Dawson Leery, explained that the actor's death "hits in a variety of different ways."
"For me as a father now, the enormity of that tragedy for his family hits me in a very different way than just as a colleague," he said. "So I think the processing is ongoing."
The "Doctor Odyssey" star added that he and Van Der Beek shared an "amazing time" in their lives together as young costars on the WB drama, which ran from 1998 to 2003 and also starred Michelle Williams and Katie Holmes.
