Reliance Jio could launch an affordable, 5G-ready Android smartphone during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) later this year. According to online reports, the affordable 5G-ready smartphone that Reliance is making in partnership with Google may be complete by the second quarter of 2021. Jio is also working on JioBook, an affordable laptop, that is likely to roll out with the 5G smartphone, also at the AGM 2021. Sources told Economic Times that Reliance is working on a May-June timeline to complete the R&D of the device, "But a launch will most likely be in the second quarter of FY21. It may coincide with the annual general meeting (AGM), usually held in August-September, when RIL has typically made all its previous announcements regarding its feature phones and fiber, among others," a source familiar with the matter told the publication.
