Janhvi Kapoor, who is gearing up for the release of her next film, Good Luck Jerry, opens up about working in South films. The black comedy crime film is directed by Sidharth Sengupta and is a remake of the Tamil film Kolamaavu Kokila (2018). This isn't the only South remake Janhvi is a part of, she also has Mili, which is a remake of the Malayalam film Helen (2019). Now in an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Janhvi shared her plans of doing a South film and also spoke about the South vs North debate.
Janhvi said, "I really want to do a South film. I want to work with so many of these amazing directors, actors, and technicians. I think they are at the top of their game. I have always been such a fan of their work and their music. I think I am just waiting for the right opportunity."
When asked what she thinks of the South films vs North films debate, the Gunjan Saxena actress said, "I don't understand this South vs North debate, we are making films for India only and it's one country. More people are consuming more content, which is good for all of us. I don't get this debate. I feel that we have so much talent in this country, so much to offer. And if we just all came together without the segregation of yeh toh sirf Malayalam cinema mein kaam karta hain (he only works in Malayalam cinema) or yeh to sirf Hindi mein kaam karti hain (he works only in Hindi films) to create, I think the level of our content will benefit immensely from it."
Good Luck Jerry is all set to release on July 29 on Disney+ Hotstar. The film also features Deepak Dobriyal, Mita Vashisht, Neeraj Sood, and Sushant Singh in pivotal roles.
