TPCC working president urges Reddy community not to be offended by unsavoury comments, emphasizing Congress's respect for freedom of speech.
TPCC working president T. Jayaprakash Reddy has urged the Reddy community not to get offended by some unsavoury comments against the community by some Congress leaders saying Congress respects freedom of speech.
In a statement here, he said such comments should not be viewed as party’s comments on the community but only the expression of some leaders of the Congress. “Treat them as comments by the brothers of other communities and not get offended as the party treats all castes with respect,” he said.
Mr. Jayaprakash Reddy said the Reddy community is a big social group in the villages living in harmony with other communities and taking them along irrespective of the affiliations to castes or religions. “This is a tradition that has been going on since ages and that is why people from all the communities have been showing love and affection,” he said.
Mr. Reddy said there was no need to get hurt or develop animosity towards the Congress or the government with the comments made by a few people who don’t understand the Congress culture or don’t realise the community work towards the society.
