J&K: Mughal Road reopens for one-way traffic after four months

Mughal Road was reopened for one-way vehicular traffic on Wednesday. The traffic on the road was allowed from Poonch towards Shopian at around 9 am.
After remaining closed for over four months due to heavy snowfall, Mughal Road was reopened for one-way vehicular traffic on Wednesday.
The historic road connects the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch in the Jammu region with south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
The traffic on the road was allowed from Poonch towards Shopian at around 9 am, a traffic department official said, according to news agency PTI.

“The traffic will be restricted to one-way and will ply alternatively from Poonch and Shopian for the time being as a precautionary measure,” he said.
No vehicles will be allowed on the road after 3 pm.
Adequate personnel have been deployed at Behramgala, Bufliaz and Poshana, to facilitate smooth movement of the traffic.
