Former Chief Minister and ADMK Workers Rights’ Retrieval Committee coordinator O. Panneerselvam on Wednesday (March 26, 2025) said it was “all for the the best,” when asked to comment about the meeting between AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami and Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah in Delhi on Tuesday (March 25, 2025).
Mr. Panneerselvam was responding to reporters’ queries about the meeting in the Assembly complex in Chennai.
Last month, Mr. Panneerselvam had underscored the need for unity within the AIADMK.
During the meeting with the Union Home Minister, Mr. Palaniswami handed over a memorandum to him, in which he raised the issue of delimitation and also complained about the “deteriorating” law and order situation.
The AIADMK had exited the BJP-led NDA in September 2023, accusing the State BJP leadership of deliberately and maliciously defaming AIADMK’s icons, former Chief Ministers C.N. Annadurai and J. Jayalalithaa, and criticising its policies. Till recently, it had maintained that it would not have truck with the BJP for the 2026 Assembly poll too.
