Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday (April 8, 2026) conducted a surprise inspection of the GST office and directed to issue show cause notices to all officers who were not present at the office during duty hours.
“Discipline is not meant only for junior staff; it applies equally to everyone, including commissioners and special commissioners,” Ms. Gupta said, asserting that no one will be exempt from rules.
The Chief Minister said that biometric attendance is mandatory for all, and directed departments to ensure strict compliance. “Officials have also been asked to submit biometric attendance records for the past one month with immediate effect, so that responsibility can be clearly fixed,” the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said in a statement.
