Eight more stranded residents from Dakshina Kannada seek government assistance to return home amid the Israel-Iran conflict.
Eight more persons from three families of Dakshina Kannada district in Karnataka have sought help to return to Mangaluru from Qatar and the UAE where they are stranded amid the Israel-US-Iran war raging in West Asia.
According to information made available by the State Disaster Management Authority, 35-year-old K. Ajith from Belthangdy has sought help for returning with his 30-year-old wife G. Nikhita and their three-year-old daughter A. Anika. Mr. Ajith went to Qatar on a work visa while his wife and daughter accompanied him on a family visa. They are all safe in Mushreb.
Shailesh Kumar from Bengaluru has sought help for the return of his sister Nisharani, 37, and her husband Ashwin Kumar, 38, who hails from Mangaluru. Ashwin went to the UAE on an employee visa while his wife accompanied him on a family visa. Both are safe in Abu Dhabi.
Nagaraj Shet from Mangaluru has sought help for the return of his daughter Dimple Shet, 28, son-in-law Chetan Vernekar, 29 and their two-year-old daughter Reyan. All the three went to the UAE on a tourist visa, and they are in Dubai.
In all, a total of 17 persons from Dakhina Kannada have sought help of the Karnataka government to return from UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.
Eight persons from two families, who were expected to board a flight from Dubai to Mangaluru on March 4, could not do so in the light of cancellation of flights.
