Doha, Qatar: The Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center has concluded its month-long Arabic language course for non-native speakers in the Kingdom of Cambodia, with 61 students benefiting from the programme.

The course was held at the Arab Islamic Academy and aimed to enhance the Arabic proficiency of students of Islamic studies in non-Arab countries, improve their conversational skills, and deepen their understanding of various aspects of the Arabic language.

Dr. Saleh bin Ali Al-Marri, Director of the Center, stated that such international Arabic courses reflect the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening Islamic relations and promoting the Arabic language as a gateway to the Arab-Islamic heritage. Through mastering the language, students of Islamic sciences can expand their religious knowledge and better access the intellectual and scholarly legacy of the Muslim world.

The closing ceremony was presented by Mohammed Suleiman Al-Suqatri and began with a recitation of the Holy Qur’an by student Safiyyah. The event featured remarks by Adam Abdul Razzaq, Director of the Arab Islamic Academy, who expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, represented by the Center, for organising the course. He highlighted the programme’s impact in supporting and enhancing the abilities of both students and teachers, commending the professionalism and teaching expertise of the Center’s instructors.

Dr. Ahmed Abdul Rahim Tahan thanked the Academy for its cooperation and efforts in facilitating the success of the course. He praised the students for their discipline, enthusiasm, and outstanding performance, emphasising that the Ministry spares no effort in promoting the Arabic language among non-Arab Muslims to spread Islamic culture and strengthen awareness of the language’s importance. At the conclusion of the event, certificates were awarded to the 61 students who successfully completed the programme. The Arab Islamic Academy in Cambodia is a recognised institution for Islamic education in the Kingdom, and its certificates enjoy official accreditation.
