Is vaccination the only way to achieve herd immunity against Covid?

Pandemic may end up either achieving herd immunity naturally or through a vaccine. However, few experts believe India is getting closer to herd immunity naturally, but many are sceptical and relying on vaccines. 

Six billion shots and counting!

The ongoing global vaccination against Covid is perhaps one of the most extensive in the history of humankind. In India, nearly half the eligible population has got at least one shot, and 19 per cent received both nine months after the vaccine rollout. Active cases have hit their lowest point since March this year and monthly data show a decline in cases and deaths.
