One of Eric Dane's final performances before his death at age 53, as Cal Jacobs in the HBO teen drama "Euphoria," will continue as scheduled.
Dane, who died Thursday, Feb. 19, following a battle with ALS, returned to production on the Emmy-winning series' highly anticipated third season last April, coinciding with the announcement of Dane's diagnosis for the neurogenerative condition, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
"I feel fortunate that I am able to continue working and am looking forward to returning to [the] set of 'Euphoria' next week," Dane told People magazine in a statement at the time.
The "Grey's Anatomy" alum joined the cast of "Euphoria," starring Zendaya, Jacob Elordi and Sydney Sweeney, for the show's debut season in 2019. Dane played Cal Jacobs, a real-estate businessman and closeted bisexual father of Elordi's Nate Jacobs.
Dane's representative, Melissa Bank, confirmed the actor's death on Thursday in a statement to USA TODAY, noting that he "spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world."
