Rumours about Ajith Kumar's entering politics spread like wildfire after J Jayalalithaa's assistant Poongundran's remarks. Ajith's publicist took to Twitter to clear the air regarding his entry.

It has been over a decade since Ajith Kumar met the media or promoted his films. Recently, former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's assistant, Poongundran Sundaralingam, spoke to an entertainment portal about Ajith Kumar's political entry. Soon after his comments went viral, Ajith Kumar's publicist took to Twitter to convey the actor's stance on politics.

Ajith is enjoying the success of his recently released film, Valimai, which is successfully running in theatres. The actor refrains from making a public appearance or meeting the media. He believes that his work should speak and has been following this for over a decade.

Recently, former CM J Jayalalithaa's assistant told Zee News that he feels that Ajith is getting ready to enter politics. This remark gained a lot of attention among Ajith's fans and in political circles. Soon, Ajith's publicist Suresh Chandra took to Twitter to rubbish the rumours.

He wrote, "Mr Ajith Kumar has got no intentions of venturing into politics and hence humbly requests the respected members of the media to refrain from encouraging such misleading information (sic)."

Here's the post:

Ajith Kumar recently requested his fans not to call him 'Thala' anymore. He is presently prepping for his upcoming film, which is tentatively titled AK 61. The film will be directed by H Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor. AK 61 is the third collaboration between H Vinoth, Ajith and Boney after Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai. Soon, the cast and crew of his upcoming film will be announced.
