International Rail Coach Exhibition inaugurated at ICF Chennai

International Rail Coach Expo 2026 opens in Chennai, showcasing global advancements in railway technology and sustainable design.
Integral Coach Factory (ICF) general manager U. Subba Rao inaugurated the International Rail Coach Expo (IRCE) 2026 in the city on Thursday. The IRCE being organised by ICF in association with CII would he held from March 12 to 14.
Mr. Rao, in his address, said that the expo, which was previously held in 2018, has become a global platform for national and international companies with an emphasis on sustainability, safety, and indigenous development, along with a quality-first approach.

Darez Ahamed, Managing Director and CEO, Guidance Tamil Nadu, Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce Department, spoke about the larger mobility ecosystem, including high-speed rail, growing urban mobility projects, and the strengthening of the industrial ecosystem in the State.
A.R. Unnikrishnan, chairman of the CII Tamil Nadu State Council, said that in the evolving nature of the country’s rail network the coach design is increasingly given focus along with passenger comfort.
During the three-day exhibition more than 125 companies, including public sector giants of ICF, SAIL, and private companies of Hindustan Zinc, Wabtec and Brakes India, will showcase modern railway coaches, train sets, components, and advanced rail technologies.
