International multidisciplinary conference held at The American College

Join global experts at IMC'26 in Madurai, exploring innovation and interdisciplinary dialogue across diverse academic themes.
The American College, Madurai, organised a two-day International Multidisciplinary Conference 2026 (IMC’26) under the theme ‘Innovate, Integrate & Impact’ on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The conference brought together scholars, researchers, academicians, and industry experts from India and abroad, fostering meaningful interdisciplinary dialogue and global academic exchange.
Principal and Secretary J. Paul Jayakar in his presidential address emphasised the institution’s commitment to innovation-driven and socially responsive scholarship. The inaugural address was delivered by Prof. Nagalingam Nagendrakumar from Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology, who highlighted the role of interdisciplinary research in addressing contemporary global challenges. Chad M. Bauman, president – Board of Trustees of The American College, USA, and Professor of Religion at Butler University, offered felicitations.
Various sessions addressing diverse themes, including fluorescence sensors, climate-linked disease surveillance, biomanufacturing, disaster modelling, artificial intelligence applications, positive psychology, materials science, food analysis, and interdisciplinary perspectives on markets and social transformation were conducted.
IMC’26 witnessed the participation of 578 delegates representing 52 institutions, including 13 Universities and 39 Colleges. A notable highlight was the participation of eminent scholars from the USA, Germany, Chile, Sri Lanka, and premier Indian institutions such as IIT and CSIR, ensuring a truly global and intellectually vibrant exchange.
