Discover The Good Dog Company, an enrichment-focused daycare and boarding center in Gurugram, ensuring your dog's happiness and well-being.
Each time a new dog arrives at The Good Dog Company, the first one to greet them is Azy, founder Monisha Bhatia’s five-and-a-half-month old black Labrador, who has been assigned the much-coveted post of the CFO or the Chief Fun Officer of the boarding-cum-training centre in Gurugram. “At times, it is her body language that helps me understand the new dog – if it is friendly, fearful or aggressive. She helps new dogs get accustomed to this place,” says Bhatia, who holds a degree in Assistance Dog Education from Bergin University and an MA in Human-Animal Interactions from the University of Stirling.
With more than six years of experience as a trainer, Monisha felt that the instinctual needs of our four-legged companions were not being met, prompting her to open the centre which focusses on providing enrichment to the dog – both physically and mentally. “The gap became clearer when I noticed that even after training, many dogs still struggled with boredom and unwanted behaviour because their natural instincts had nowhere to go,” she says.

At The Good Company, which she started a couple of months ago, Monisha tries to assess the dogs’ needs according to their breed, personality and energy level. “We also educate the pet-parents about the activities that can be done, whether at the centre or at home, to ensure that their pets’ requirements are met,” she says.
Whether a dog is at the centre for daycare or boarding, pet parents are required to fill up a form penning down all their dog’s details, including vaccination, allergies, exercises and favourite playtime activities. They are kept in the loop about their pets through videos, calls and chats at regular intervals.
The centre itself has been designed keeping the dogs’ comfort and activities in mind. With a capacity of maximum 15 dogs, there is ample space in the main outdoor area to run, sniff around, indulge in games such as fetching the ball and digging in the sand pit. There is also a slide and agility courses in the outdoor area as part of the physical fun. During the day, the outdoor area doubles up as a space for sunbathing and naps.
