Over 1,000 kg of seized banned tobacco was destroyed in Perambalur, attended by local officials and police.
Banned tobacco substances weighing 1,069.37 kg seized by different police stations in Perambalur district were destroyed here on Wednesday.
District Collector N. Mirunalini, Perambalur Superintendent of Police G.S. Anitha, Food Safety department and police officers were present.
The banned contraband substances were confiscated by the Perambalur, Perambalur Rural, Padalur, Arumbavur, Maruvathur, Kunnam, Mangalamedu, V, Kalathur and Kai.Kalathur police stations in different quantities in 427 cases.
