He went to appeal to both the faculty and students of the university to work out an interface between the local and global ideas to develop an innovative approach to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic.
The governor said, "You just cannot localise everything, if you want to deactivate the virus that has taken a huge toll on human life."
"Your work is to receive global knowledge and make use of it for the benefit of the region. Unless you do that, you will not be in a position to develop yourself and the region," he added.
The governor further encouraged Bodoland University's teaching faculty to work tirelessly to promote the university and to seek out opportunities for academic partnership with the best foreign universities.
Due to its strategic position, the university can be accessible by both national and foreign students, and stakeholders have been requested to examine the institution's growth and produce a strategy for its future development.
The governor further said that care should be taken to create adequate space for the university to take care of old people, women, children, differently-abled, transgender, and backward classes of society, while preparing the future roadmap for the university.
