Influencer Bobby Kataria gets interim bail for smoking in flight

Influencer Bobby Kataria was granted interim bail in connection with a case lodged against him for smoking on a flight.

A Delhi court on Thursday granted interim bail to social media influencer Bobby Kataria in a case lodged against him for smoking inside an aircraft. Earlier, an FIR was lodged against him by the Delhi Police after a video of him smoking on a SpiceJet aircraft went viral.

Earlier, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had ordered an investigation into the matter after the video went viral on social media and people demanded action against Bobby Kataria.

Meanwhile, Bobby Kataria had said the video was shot inside a demo plane in Dubai. He said the video was made during the shooting of his biopic. He said, "Shooting of my biopic is ongoing. The same shooting video has been made viral on social media platforms. The shoot in which I was smoking was done on a demo plane in Dubai."

"How can anyone carry a cigarette and lighter inside a plane? The Uttarakhand video is from 2019 and it is also a part of the biopic", he added.

SpiceJet had filed a complaint against Bobby Kataria in connection with the incident on August 13.
