Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Russian President Vladimir Putin at Hyderabad House in New Delhi as the two leaders held the 21st Indo-Russia Summit on Monday.
In his opening remark, PM Modi said that there has been no change in ties between the two nations even during the Covid-19 pandemic. He added that the special and privileged strategic partnership between the two sides was getting stronger, and both sides remained in touch on the situation in Afghanistan and other issues.

Two years ago, former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina warned of an alleged plot by a 'white man' to establish a Christian state. In 2025, the Mizoram CM said Ukraine war veterans were using the state to enter Myanmar. The arrest of 7 foreign nationals by the NIA has prompted experts to suggest that the incidents might be connected.
