A student’s candid breakdown of what it cost her to move from India to France for higher studies has gone viral with many surprised at the scale of expenses involved.
In a video shared on Instagram, an Indian woman identified as Raine detailed the financial outlay behind her decision to study abroad. The clip features her speaking to the camera, while text on screen lists the various costs she incurred before beginning her academic journey.
According to the breakdown, the biggest expense was her university fees, which totalled Rs 32,00,000 for three years. In addition to this, she had to maintain a bank balance of Rs 11,00,000 as part of the visa requirements. Other costs included Rs 60,000 for visa processing and flight tickets, Rs 80,000 loaded onto a forex card, and Rs 6,000 spent on attestation and apostille. Notably, she mentioned spending nothing on study abroad consultancy, suggesting she managed the process independently.
While the video appeared to be intended as an informative guide, it quickly drew attention for the sheer scale of the investment required.
