He was behind enemy lines: Trump on how downed US pilot was rescued from Iran

A US airman hunted for two days in Iran, airstrikes to hold back enemy forces, and a rescue that nearly failed. Trump reveals how one of the most complex military missions unfolded behind enemy lines.
A US airman who spent nearly 48 hours evading Iranian forces in hostile terrain has been rescued in a massive, high-risk operation involving hundreds of special forces troops, airstrikes, and coordinated intelligence support, with President Donald Trump calling it one of the most daring missions in recent memory.
“WE GOT HIM!” Trump said, announcing that the crew member, a senior officer and Colonel, is now “safe and sound” after being extracted from behind enemy lines.
The airman had gone missing after an F-15E Strike Eagle was shot down by Iranian forces.
While the pilot was rescued soon after ejecting, the second crew member, a weapons systems officer, remained unaccounted for, triggering an urgent and complex search operation.
US officials said the airman survived for nearly two days in Iran’s mountainous terrain, evading forces that were actively searching for him, reported NYT.
“This brave Warrior was behind enemy lines in the treacherous mountains of Iran, being hunted down by our enemies, who were getting closer and closer by the hour,” Trump said.

Pakistan tried to make a strong diplomatic move by leading mediation efforts between the US and Iran to end the war. However, Pakistan's ploy of trying to please all sides seems to have backfired. A rebuff from Iran and a strain in ties with Gulf states like the UAE have come as a double whammy for Pakistan.
