Indian Idol 1 winner Abhijeet Sawant blasts show for selling poverty, tragic stories
India Today
Abhijeet Sawant recently blasted the singing reality show, Indian Idol 12, for focussing more on the tragic stories of the contestants rather than their singing talent. Abhijeet is the winner of Indian Idol 1.
Amid several controversies, Indian Idol 12 has received another criticism from the winner of its first season, Abhijeet Sawant. The singer accused the makers of focussing more on the tragic backgrounds and sob stories of the participants rather than their singing talent. This comes after Kishore Kumar’s son, Amit Kumar, had blasted the show saying that he didn’t enjoy a special tribute episode to his father. In an exclusive conversation with Aaj Tak, Abhijeet said, "These days, the makers are more interested in whether the participant can polish shoes or how poor he is, rather than his talent. You should watch regional reality shows where viewers may not know anything about the background of their favourite contestants. Their focus is only on singing, but in Hindi reality shows, the tragic and sad stories of contestants are shown. The focus is only on that."More Related News
