India registers 2,202 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours; Delhi reports 613 fresh infections

India logged a total of 2,202 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. Delhi, with 613 fresh infections, reported the highest number of Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. Delhi, Kerala, Haryana, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh together are responsible for 79.52% of the fresh cases.
India registered a total of 2,202 fresh cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, which is 11.5% lower than yesterday. Delhi reported the maximum infections with 613 new cases of Covid-19. This brings the total caseload in India to 4,31,23,801.
The top five states which have registered maximum cases are Delhi with 613 cases, followed by Kerala with 428 cases, Haryana with 302 cases, Maharashtra with 255 cases and Uttar Pradesh with 153 cases.
A total of 79.52% of the new cases have been reported from these five states, with Delhi alone responsible for 27.84% of the new cases. India's active caseload stands at 17,317. In the last 24 hours, active cases declined by 375.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 27 deaths were reported in the country, bringing the total number of deaths to 5,24,241.
A total of 2,550 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, which brings the total recoveries to 4,25,82,243 across the country. India's recovery rate now stands at 98.74%.
India has administered a total of 3,10,218 doses in the last 24 hours, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 1,91,37,34,314. A total of 4,05,156 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
