India records single-day spike of over 1.31 lakh cases, 780 deaths

India reported 1,31,968 fresh Covid-19 cases, pushing the country's positive caseload to 1,30,60,542, the Union health ministry said Friday morning. Meanwhile, 780 more people succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours.

More than 1.19 crore people have recovered from the infection so far. As of Friday, a total of 1,67,642 people have succumbed to the Covid-19 infection in the country.
