India-Bangladesh ties require reset: Tarique Rahman's top aide after BNP's poll win

While urging India to acknowledge the political change in Dhaka, BNP leader Humayun Kabir maintained that the new government would also adopt a "positive mindset" to bridge gaps and build constructive ties.
India-Bangladesh bilateral ties require a "complete reset" following the Bangladesh National Party’s (BNP) sweeping victory in the parliamentary elections, Humayun Kabir, a close aide of Prime Minister-elect Tarique Rahman, said in an exclusive conversation with India Today TV.
Signalling a decisive break from the trajectory under former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Kabir stressed that the framework of engagement that existed during the Awami League’s tenure is now "irrelevant" in light of a fresh democratic mandate in Dhaka.
The Tarique Rahman-led party romped home to a resounding victory in the 13th general elections, winning 209 out of 299 seats.
Responding to questions on how the BNP views ties with India post the polls win— particularly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among the first global leaders to congratulate Rahman — Kabir highlighted the scale of the party’s mandate.
He said the BNP's two-thirds majority reflected the "confidence the people of Bangladesh have on Tarique Rahman, his leadership and his vision for the country".

Meanwhile, Dubai International Airport has resumed flight operations after a temporary suspension of about seven hours caused by a drone strike near a fuel tank facility.

When we look at Iran through the prism of religion and see a Shia Islamic country, we negate its thousands of years of rich pre-Islamic Persian culture. A dive into the world of Zoroastrianism and Vedas shows us how Indians and Iranians have been sharing languages, Gods, sciences and a sacred fire for thousands of years.
