IIT Guwahati researchers have developed a self-healing surface that is capable of withstanding repetitive damage.
Researchers at IIT Guwahati have created a self-healing amphiphobic solid slippery covering that allows droplets of various liquids to slide, including water, polar and non-polar chemical solvents, edible oil, motor and engine oil, and crude oils. It also demonstrates self-healing of repeated physical damage in less than 1 minute while maintaining the imbedded slippery property. The research was undertaken by a team of IIT Guwahati research scholars and professors.
